Social interactions between support staff and service users
This PhD research focused on interactional patterns, specifically on the unison between support staff and people with intellectual disabilities during regular support meetings. The interactional patterns observed in this study demonstrated that support staff and service users were generally well attuned to each other, both on a content and process level. Support staff in particular made efforts to achieve dynamic synchronisation of nonverbal behaviour.
