Understanding Triple-C and the importance of relationships in the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and challenging behaviour
Triple-C (Client, Coach, Competence) is a method used in the support and treatment of people with intellectual disabilities who display challenging behaviour. The aim of this PhD research was to identify the effective components of the Triple-C approach, organised into personal characteristics, context, and organisation. Moreover, the supportive relationships between people with intellectual disabilities and their support staff were studied. Finally, the research mapped the informal (family) support relationships of people with intellectual disabilities.
